Induction Cooking Explained
- Induction Hobs
As the pan is heated directly and not the glass hob, there is greater efficiency and cooking speed is improved. For the same reason, induction cooking is more energy efficient and controllable than traditional methods.
If a pan is removed from the induction hob without first switching off then power to the hob is automatically switched off. if a cloth or flamable object is left on the hob by mistake this will not catch fire even when the hotplate is switched on; only residual heat caused by contact with a hot pan will remain in the hob.
As the induction hob is not heated, food spilt on it's surface will not burn. Spills can normally be cleaned off immediately as it isn't necessary to allow the hob to cool down.
Select the appropriate hotplate size to suit the pan being used; the pan diameter should be as close as possible to the cooking zone size marked on the induction hob.
