Following the success of Marcel Frichot's new venture, Bistrot Coco, based in Cheltenham, he decided to expand the commercial kitchen and upgrade the equipment to include a heavy duty, commercial induction range cooker and ventilation system to help cater for the extra demand.

Following tests carried out by Bistrot Coco's head chef, Tim Hayward and Marcel, at Target's Gloucester factory,  a commercial induction range cooker was designed to incorporate heavy duty induction hobs, a flat and ribbed griddle plate and a deep fat fryer and was manufactured to fit the exact space available.  The commercial induction range cooker also incorporated a Blue Seal convection oven that was originally installed in the Bistrot Coco kitchen.

The cooking of the superb, French style bistro's black and blue steaks, along with traditional French regional cuisine, has now been made easier with the addition of Target Catering Equipment's heavy duty commercial induction range cooker incorporating the flat and ribbed griddle plate.

Sodexo recently commissioned Target Catering Equipment to build their first, front of house, Chef's Theatre Cooking Station. Following extensive tests and development work at the Target Catering factory and development kitchen which included trials of Target's commercial induction hobs and induction cooking stations, a design was finally approved.

With chefs' briefed by Project Manager, Chris Wright, the Theatre Cooking Station was delivered to the Aberdeen Maritime Museum for a special launch to the offshore industry with a view to enhancing the levels of service and quality of food at remote sites managed by Sodexo.

The event showcased a range of á la carte food, prepared in double quick time, demonstrating the flexibility and ease at which this new style of food offer can be integrated into the more traditional canteen style service, common throughout the industry.

Commercial induction hobs were the prefered choice of Mike and Lynn Steadman for their new venture, Aztec Soft Play in Carlisle.

Already using induction hobs at home, it was an obvious decision for their new commercial kitchen to include commercial induction hobs instead of gas for the catering equipment.

Mike's all electric kitchen was chosen in preference of gas because of safety issues and ease of use, not to mention energy efficiency and lower maintenance costs.

The table top, 6 ring induction hob and Blue Seal Convection oven on a bespoke stainless steel stand, manufactured by Target Caterng Equipment, slotted exactly into postion as the last items to be ordered by the Steadman's were delivered ready for the August Bank holiday opening.

When the owners of The Mill At Rode needed to reduce overheads they initially trialled an Induction Range Cooker with electric water chargrill.  Energy costs were reviewed along with the way cooking equipment was being used and it was discovered that massive energy savings could be made by turning off the gas and switching to electric commercial induction hobs and in particular a bespoke Induction Range with electric water chargrill built in, made in Gloucester by Target Catering Equipment.

During a visit to Target Catering Equipment's demonstration kitchen, the chefs cooked their menu using Target's Induction Range Cooker with electric water chargrill.  The new equipment was put to the test producing perfect chargrilled products every time, using a fraction of the heat and with less of the mess associated with conventional gas chargrill equipment.

A bespoke Induction Range Cooker was designed incorporating both heavy duty commercial induction hobs and light duty induction hobs along with a built in flush mounted water chargrill and a large convection oven was accomodated under.

The fully mobile unit which is mounted on castors, was wheeled in, plugged in and ready for cooking within minutes of being delivered.  It can also be easily moved for cleaning behind and the flush mounted cook top can be used for food preparation when not in use for cooking.

The new Induction Range Cooker with electric water chargrill was funded using one of the last Carbon Trust Interest Free Loans. Target Catering Equipment also offers funding through leading finance companies, subject to terms and conditions, to assist with the purchase of new energy saving equipment.

Another benefit of the Induction Range Cooker with electric water chargrill was the reduced ventilation requirement which in turn meant reduced noise in the kitchen and no expensive gas safety interlock system as the old gas range had now been removed.

The Induction Range Cooker with electric water chargrill creates a cooler, more comfortable cooking environment with less running costs.  This has to make sense for today’s modern kitchen environments.
