Induction Hobs Cleaning - How Do I Clean My Induction Hob?

The totally flat Ceran® glass cooking surfaces of induction hobs do not get hot enough to burn spills on, therefore cleaning is simple.

  • It is advisable, but not necessary to switch your induction hob off before cleaning.
  • The induction hob glass surface can be cleaned with a damp cloth or with glass hob cleaner
  • Do not use an abrasive or scouring detergents, scouring pads or steel wool as these will scratch the glass - this is not detrimental and will not affect performance but can ulimatelty look unsightly
  • Any spills should be removed as soon as possibe.  If they are allowed to harden they become increasingly difficult to remove although they will not become burnt on.
  • Do not use a sharp knife or other sharp utensil as these may damage the glass cooking surface.
  • Air entry and air vents - after long periods of use dirt and dust may accumulate - this should be removed with a soft brush - never wash with water - cleaning the air vents will enable your induction hob to continue to function correctly for a longer period of time, by allowing a good supply of cool air to continue to reach the induction engine.
  • Our portable induction hobs stainless steel casing can be cleaned by simply wiping with a damp cloth and detergent if necessary.
