INDUCTION HOBS EXPLAINED - LIGHT DUTY vs HEAVY DUTY - THE DIFFERENCE
"Why is there such a difference in the price of induction hobs?".
As with most commercial products, the price should relate to the quality, specification, style and standard of manufacture and, of course, the product's suitability for its intended purpose.
The Target Catering Equipment and EGO induction partnership recognises this and offers an entry level light duty unit as well as a heavy duty unit in order to suit different applications. All Target Catering Equipment i-hobs use EGO induction technology.

Much of the difference in hob cost is related to the electronic induction components used, this having a direct relationship on the time life cycles and manufacturer's warranty that is offered on all our products.
EGO, as a world leading manufacturer of induction components, offer the following operating time warranties on their range of components:
LIGHT DUTY EQUIPMENT
2,500 operating hours per cooking element.
Operating time is divided into:
1000 hours at full power 500 hours at 50% load 500 hours at 30% load 500 hours at 10% load
HEAVY DUTY EQUIPMENT
30,000 operating hours on full power operation
It is obvious that there are large differences in the two levels of usage and it is, therefore, important when selecting induction products to recognise these differences.
All Target Catering Equipment i-hob induction products are of the highest quality and are manufactured within a quality control system that offer complete traceability and conform to the highest recognised standards.
